While the excitement is real, it’s also normal to feel a few butterflies (and maybe a bit of stress) as the day kicks off.

That’s where a well-organized, calm start makes all the difference. As your makeup artist, I’m not just here to do makeup — I’m here to help create a smooth, joyful morning that sets the tone for everything that follows.

Whether you're getting ready solo with your mum or surrounded by your bridal party and friends, here's exactly what to expect when I’m part of your morning, plus my best tips to help it all go beautifully.

How I Support You on the Day

I’ll create a detailed makeup schedule based on the size of your bridal party, factoring in plenty of buffer time so no one feels rushed. I’ll also liaise with your hairstylist, photographer, and planner as needed to keep your glam flowing seamlessly.

  • A calm, grounded energy

My role goes beyond makeup. I’m often one of the first vendors you see on the day, so I show up with a quiet confidence and a warm energy that helps you (and everyone around you) settle in. I usually have a latte in hand and a smile (but no cheesy “bridal squad” energy, unless you want it!).

  • Makeup services for your whole bridal party

I offer makeup for brides, bridesmaids, mums, grandmums — even wedding guests. Whether you're having an intimate elopement or a full bridal party, I’ll tailor the morning’s glam to suit your day.

Wedding Morning Essentials

Here’s how to make your wedding morning glam session even smoother (and more enjoyable!):

1. Choose the right space

Make sure there's enough room for both me and your hairstylist to work comfortably, with a table or flat surface for my kit and natural lighting, if possible. A bright, airy space can make all the difference (and it shows in the photos, too).

2. Consider venue access

Many venues only allow access 2-3 hours before the ceremony, and that’s rarely enough time for everyone to get ready. If that’s the case, I recommend having makeup and hair done at a nearby Airbnb or hotel suite and then heading to the venue for photos.

3. Arrive prepared 

All you’ll need is a freshly cleansed face; I’ll take it from there! I also recommend wearing a button-up shirt or bridal robe so your makeup stays perfect when it’s time to change. Also, avoid any harsh skin treatments, injections, or changing up your skincare routine in the last four weeks before your wedding date. This last month is not the time to experiment on your face!

4. Create a morning playlist

Whether it’s chill, nostalgic, or upbeat, having a playlist you love can totally transform the energy of the morning. It’s such an easy way to make the space feel like yours.

5. Fuel up early

Be sure to eat something light and hydrate before we begin. It helps ground you and keeps your energy up. Once your makeup is done, avoid oily or messy foods (looking at you, salad dressings or greasy wraps…). I recommend using a straw to protect your lipstick and patting instead of wiping your mouth.

6. Trust your artist

You’ve done all the planning, and you’ve hired me for a reason. Now’s the time to let go and enjoy the morning. I’ll handle the details so you can take a deep breath, be present with your people, and savor these special hours before the “I do.”
